Dr. Rohini Srivathsa is the National Technology Officer at Microsoft India. In her role, she is responsible for driving innovation and growth through ‘tech-intensity’ – across customers and partners, in industry and the government. Rohini began her career in R&D at AT&T Bell Laboratories and has 25+ technical and business publications in ACM/IEEE and other journals. She engaged with CXOs across emerging markets during her strategy consulting career at the Boston Consulting Group and IBM Global Business Services. Rohini is a thought-leader, and a business and technology advisor to multiple entities: Wiley Innovation Advisory Council, ECE department at Carnegie Mellon University, MIT Technology Review Insights, NM-ICPS – Dept of Science and Technology of the Government of India, SRITNE at the Indian School of Business. She holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and earned her PhD in Computer Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.

Professor Deepa Mani’s research interests are at the intersection of technology, organisation, and society. Her research articles have been published in leading academic journals. Deepa works closely with industry to drive innovation and strategies for the digital economy. She also works closely with the central and state governments to explore the impact of technology interventions in areas such as education, healthcare and urbanization. Deepa completed her undergraduate education from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University and her graduate education from Carnegie Mellon University. She received her doctorate degree from the University of Texas at Austin.

Professor Bhagwan Chowdhry’s research interests are in international finance and corporate finance and strategy and has been a visiting professor and lecturer at a variety of institutions, including the University of Chicago, University of Illinois at Chicago, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and ISB. He is a current visiting scholar at the Stellar Development Foundation.
Professor Chowdhry is a frequent contributor to the Huffington Post and is the co-founder (with Professor Ivo Welch) and executive editor of a new publication, Finance & Accounting Memos (FAMe). He has also served on the editorial boards of a number of finance and economic journals, including Journal of Finance, Review of Financial Studies, American Economic Review and Journal of Political Economy.

Anand Nandkumar explores industry and firm level phenomena that influence innovation – the generation of new ideas and entrepreneurship – distribution and commercialization of new ideas. His research focuses on high technology industries such as pharmaceuticals, bio-technology and software, and falls in between industrial organisation (IO), economics of technological change and strategy. His current work examines the influence of venture capitalists on entrepreneurial performance.
He graduated with a PhD in Public Policy and Management, with a focus in strategy and entrepreneurship from Carnegie Mellon University in 2008. Prior to his PhD, he worked with a startup in the Silicon Valley and in New York City with one of the world’s largest financial services firm. At the ISB, he teaches Strategic Innovation Management and Strategic Challenges for Innovation based startups.
MILIND SOHONI
Professor, Operations Management
Deputy Dean – Hyderabad Campus and Faculty & Research
Milind Sohoni’s research interests span large-scale stochastic airline optimization, supply chain analytics, healthcare delivery and nonprofit operations management in resource constrained settings. He has also received excellence in research awards from academic and practitioner societies. He serves as an associate editor for leading academic journals in operations management.
He has several years of corporate experience in consulting and research. Prior to joining ISB, he was a research advisor with the R&D group at Delta Technology, a wholly owned subsidiary of Delta Air Lines, Atlanta, GA. Prior to that, he worked with the Advanced Decision Support Systems group at AT&T Bell Labs in Holmdel, New Jersey, and Ryder Dedicated Logistics, Miami, Florida. He holds a Ph.D. in Operations Research from the School of Industrial and Systems Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA.
VISHAL KARUNGULAM

Vishal Karungulam is a visiting faculty to PGP and Executive Education participants at ISB, for Software Product Management and Digital Transformation. For the last 15 years, he has built world class products across hardware and software and has led multiple large scale digital transformation initiatives in the Supply Chain space. He is an alumnus of Harvard Business School, and currently leads Product Management in India for Cloud Security at Google.
Prior to Google, he was with Microsoft for more than a decade, where he led envisioning, design, execution and Go to Market aspects of FarmBeats, a Digital Agriculture offering from Microsoft. In addition, he also led multiple product launches ranging from Xbox 360, Kinect, Xbox One, to the latest Surface family of devices specializing in product development and supply chain technology and operations.
He is a TEDx speaker, with deep expertise in Product Development, Digital Transformation and Supply Chain. He is super passionate about bringing together the worlds of academia and industry.
VASUDEVA VARMA

Vasudeva Varma’s research interests include search (information retrieval), information extraction, information access, cloud computing and software engineering. He heads the Search and Information Extraction Lab at IIIT Hyderabad.

Prof. Srivastava has over 30 years as an academic and administrator. Prior to joining ISB, he was Provost and Deputy President of Academic Affairs at Singapore Management University. His research interests include Marketing Strategy, Marketing Metrics, and Brand/Customer Management. His current work focuses on Business Model Innovations, especially in Services, B2B, Technology and Emerging Markets. He is best known globally, for his work on measuring the impact of market-facing business processes, and the value of market-based assets. Before SMU, he held distinguished research chairs and senior management positions at the University of Texas at Austin and Emory University in Atlanta.

Prof. Nidumolu has expertise in B-School professorship, Fortune 500 strategy consulting, C-level executive experience, and business research. He has advised global corporations on unlocking new opportunities for business growth through new models of business leadership, digital transformation, and sustainable business innovation. He is recognised as a thought leader through influential Harvard Business Review articles, an acclaimed book on business leadership, and other publications. He completed his PhD in Information Systems from Anderson School of Management, UCLA.

Prof. Sinha has held senior leadership roles in both academia and industry. His research work involves developing systems to help managers make better decisions and improve consumer welfare. Before joining ISB, he was the Associate Dean (Research) and the de-facto co-Internal Dean at UTS Business School, Australia. He helped the school become one of the top 3 business schools in Australia. Prof Sinha has a PhD Marketing Science from the University of Alberta.
SUMEET KUMAR
Assistant Professor
Sumeet Kumar is an Assistant Professor at the Indian School of Business (ISB). He studies problems at the intersection of technology and society. He is interested in analyzing user behavior, quantifying online forums’ polarization, and finding advertisements disguised as regular content on online platforms. His current focus is on finding implicit/hidden advertisements in videos posted on kids’ platforms like YouTube kids. Additionally, he has also conducted research on software design and development, in particular user experience. He has investigated the use of phone sensors in emergencies to improve situational awareness. His study on the wireless-emergency-alerting (WEA) service in the United States addressed several issues of central importance to emergency alerts effectiveness and adoption. Some of his research recommendations were included in the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) proposed changes to WEA. Sumeet completed his undergraduate education at IIT Kanpur. He has Masters degrees in Software Engineering and Machine Learning, both from Carnegie Mellon. He also earned his doctorate from Carnegie Mellon University.

Anand Nandkumar explores industry and firm level phenomena that influence innovation – the generation of new ideas and entrepreneurship – distribution and commercialization of new ideas. His research focuses on high technology industries such as pharmaceuticals, bio-technology and software, and falls in between industrial organisation (IO), economics of technological change and strategy. His current work examines the influence of venture capitalists on entrepreneurial performance.
He graduated with a PhD in Public Policy and Management, with a focus in strategy and entrepreneurship from Carnegie Mellon University in 2008. Prior to his PhD, he worked with a startup in the Silicon Valley and in New York City with one of the world’s largest financial services firm. At the ISB, he teaches Strategic Innovation Management and Strategic Challenges for Innovation based startups.
MILIND SOHONI
Professor, Operations Management
Deputy Dean – Hyderabad Campus and Faculty & Research
Milind Sohoni’s research interests span large-scale stochastic airline optimization, supply chain analytics, healthcare delivery and nonprofit operations management in resource constrained settings. He has also received excellence in research awards from academic and practitioner societies. He serves as an associate editor for leading academic journals in operations management.
He has several years of corporate experience in consulting and research. Prior to joining ISB, he was a research advisor with the R&D group at Delta Technology, a wholly owned subsidiary of Delta Air Lines, Atlanta, GA. Prior to that, he worked with the Advanced Decision Support Systems group at AT&T Bell Labs in Holmdel, New Jersey, and Ryder Dedicated Logistics, Miami, Florida. He holds a Ph.D. in Operations Research from the School of Industrial and Systems Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA.
VISHAL KARUNGULAM

Vishal Karungulam is a visiting faculty to PGP and Executive Education participants at ISB, for Software Product Management and Digital Transformation. For the last 15 years, he has built world class products across hardware and software and has led multiple large scale digital transformation initiatives in the Supply Chain space. He is an alumnus of Harvard Business School, and currently leads Product Management in India for Cloud Security at Google.
Prior to Google, he was with Microsoft for more than a decade, where he led envisioning, design, execution and Go to Market aspects of FarmBeats, a Digital Agriculture offering from Microsoft. In addition, he also led multiple product launches ranging from Xbox 360, Kinect, Xbox One, to the latest Surface family of devices specializing in product development and supply chain technology and operations.
He is a TEDx speaker, with deep expertise in Product Development, Digital Transformation and Supply Chain. He is super passionate about bringing together the worlds of academia and industry.
VASUDEVA VARMA

Vasudeva Varma’s research interests include search (information retrieval), information extraction, information access, cloud computing and software engineering. He heads the Search and Information Extraction Lab at IIIT Hyderabad.

Prof. Srivastava has over 30 years as an academic and administrator. Prior to joining ISB, he was Provost and Deputy President of Academic Affairs at Singapore Management University. His research interests include Marketing Strategy, Marketing Metrics, and Brand/Customer Management. His current work focuses on Business Model Innovations, especially in Services, B2B, Technology and Emerging Markets. He is best known globally, for his work on measuring the impact of market-facing business processes, and the value of market-based assets. Before SMU, he held distinguished research chairs and senior management positions at the University of Texas at Austin and Emory University in Atlanta.

He completed his PhD in Information Systems from Anderson School of Management, UCLA.

Prof. Sinha has held senior leadership roles in both academia and industry. His research work involves developing systems to help managers make better decisions and improve consumer welfare. Before joining ISB, he was the Associate Dean (Research) and the de-facto co-Internal Dean at UTS Business School, Australia. He helped the school become one of the top 3 business schools in Australia. Prof Sinha has a PhD Marketing Science from the University of Alberta.
SUMEET KUMAR
Assistant Professor
Sumeet Kumar is an Assistant Professor at the Indian School of Business (ISB). He studies problems at the intersection of technology and society. He is interested in analyzing user behavior, quantifying online forums’ polarization, and finding advertisements disguised as regular content on online platforms. His current focus is on finding implicit/hidden advertisements in videos posted on kids’ platforms like YouTube kids. Additionally, he has also conducted research on software design and development, in particular user experience. He has investigated the use of phone sensors in emergencies to improve situational awareness. His study on the wireless-emergency-alerting (WEA) service in the United States addressed several issues of central importance to emergency alerts effectiveness and adoption. Some of his research recommendations were included in the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) proposed changes to WEA. Sumeet completed his undergraduate education at IIT Kanpur. He has Masters degrees in Software Engineering and Machine Learning, both from Carnegie Mellon. He also earned his doctorate from Carnegie Mellon University.
DR. ROHINI SRIVATHSA
National Technology Officer, Microsoft India
Dr. Rohini Srivathsa is the National Technology Officer at Microsoft India. In her role, she is responsible for driving innovation and growth through ‘tech-intensity’ – across customers and partners, in industry and the government. Rohini began her career in R&D at AT&T Bell Laboratories and has 25+ technical and business publications in ACM/IEEE and other journals. She engaged with CXOs across emerging markets during her strategy consulting career at the Boston Consulting Group and IBM Global Business Services. Rohini is a thought-leader, and a business and technology advisor to multiple entities: Wiley Innovation Advisory Council, ECE department at Carnegie Mellon University, MIT Technology Review Insights, NM-ICPS – Dept of Science and Technology of the Government of India, SRITNE at the Indian School of Business. She holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and earned her PhD in Computer Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.Next
